First week of golf 4/30

Finally it looks like we should be starting on Monday. There is a rule change for this year around the maximum number of strokes you can take on a hole. This has been talked about for years and thought we'd try it this year. This is a typical rule of many other leagues.
I'll be handing out a copy of the golf league rules to each team so you can put them in your golf bag for reference.

Maximum Number of Strokes:
The maximum number of strokes for any hole will be 2 times par plus 1.
  • Par 3 will be 7 strokes maximum.
  • Par 4 will be 9 strokes maximum
  • Par 5 will be 11 strokes maximum
When you reach the maximum number of strokes for the hole please pick up your ball. This is to help keep the speed of play at a reasonable pace.

NO GOLF MONDAY APRIL 23RD

NO GOLF ON MONDAY 4/23
Well last weeks weather turned out better than expected but Rob & I are thinking this forecast just might come true so we've decided to cancel golf for tomorrow. Normally we would meet at the course and vote on whether to play but we're thinking this is a no-brainer. Hope to see you all on the 30th...

Details for Monday, April 23
Windy. A mixture of rain and snow in the morning will change to all rain in the afternoon. Cold. Temps nearly steady in the mid 30s. Winds N at 25 to 35 mph. Chance of precipitation 90%.
Evening: Windy...cloudy with rain and snow. Low 32F. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of precipitation 80%. About one inch of snow expected.

Complete 2012 Schedule is now posted as well!

A couple more updates...

Well the time has come for us to start another season of golf. As it stands now lets see if we can get it going on the 16th. This will be weather permitting and course conditions. If we decide to cancel golf before Monday an email will be sent out to tell you, otherwise please show up to the course. If it's questionable we will do as we have in the past and go to the course and vote to decide if we will play that night.

REMINDER:
•    Cash or check to Jim LoPresti on the first night.
•    $270.00 or $54.00 for Breamar Country Club members.
•    Please have subs pay $6.00 to Jim LoPresti
•    As a courtesy if you can, please tell us before Monday if you're going to have a sub and who it is.

It has been mentioned in the past that we should consider changing our maximum strokes rule from 12 on any hole to something else. One suggestion was double par 3=6, 4=8, 5=10.
Any thoughts or ideas?????

Jim
