Out Of Bounds (white stakes):
If you hit a ball out of bounds your penalty is, stroke & distance.
Example: 10th hole you hit your ball to the right past the white stakes. You would tee up again and would now be hitting 3. 1 is your first hit / 2 is stroke penalty / 3 teeing up again from the original spot distance penalty.
If your ever not sure if your ball stayed in-bounds hit a provisional ball. If you don't and your ball did go out of bounds, you must return to the spot you originally hit the ball before it went out of bounds, and hit again.
If you do not return to the original spot and play a ball from the point it went out, you would add an extra stroke in place of the distance penalty and now be hitting 4.
